A very British evening!

The Spring Proms are a sensational mix of classical favourites, stirring choral and solo performances and fabulous new scores, whilst retaining all the Pomp and Ceremony associated with a night at the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.  Patriotic, uplifting and quintessentially British classical entertainment to stir the body and soul.

Chris Palmer-Jeffery worked as Promoter Producer and Director on the Spring Proms series.

Since the first Cathcart Spring Proms in 1996, music to represent the Cathcart brand and ideology has been chosen to reflect the mood and emotional journey as each show unfolds in a unique consumer experience.

World premieres have amazed the audiences, and powerful, tempo driven music, short and long, has its place alongside serene and pastoral pieces.

Cathcart has always welcomed the unusual, from entertaining and progressive pieces to colourful performers.

In the early years from 1996 until 2001, Great British music featured each year with an eclectic variety of music, movement and vocals. Several military bands including the Grenadier Guards have played and marched, as have Jazz sets with Jonny Dankworth and Cleo Laine.

The design of the Cathcart Proms was conceived by the Founder Chris Palmer-Jeffery in the early 1990s.

The DNA of the Cathcart experience includes a complex matrix of emotional and physical experiences.

A huge amount of emphasis was made in the early years upon the creation of atmosphere on each occasion to set the scene in a comfortable and non-threatening manner to an audience of music lovers with performances of all types of music and choral pieces. Classical pianists, acoustic and electric guitarists, percussionists, acapella vocalists and even bagpipers and a Uilleann piper, all helped to establish the Cathcart DNA.

The success of the annual production is showcased by the fact Chris received a National Heritage Award from the Culture Media Department of British Government.

What a fabulous evening.  Thank you and Kirsten so much for a really exceptional experience.
The performances were simply breathtaking (especially Vika, who just has that indefinable ‘genius quality’), and as for the mix of music on the programme… there can’t be many other events that can combine Zadok the Priest and Deep Purple and make it feel so natural for the audience!
You asked us for our opinion regarding your experiential concept of sound meeting image: as ‘first-timers’, we can assure you that it worked superbly, and should be continued. And obviously it was an additional bonus to sit in the Royal Box… after all, it’s important to keep raising the bar in one’s life!
All in all, Sarah and I felt privileged to have been invited.
Thanks again, and best wishes.
